Research Training and Speaker Series

2021 — مستمر

Co-led by Dr. Sarah Phillips, Professor of Global Conflict and Development at the University of Sydney and Non-Resident Fellow and Research Advisor with the Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies, the Research Training and Speaker Series strengthens research capacity among Yemeni researchers, civil society actors, and emerging policy professionals.

The program provides training in research design, qualitative and quantitative methods, data collection and analysis, research ethics, gender-sensitive methodologies, and policy-oriented writing. It supports participants in developing practical research skills and applying rigorous methodologies to the study of Yemen’s political, social, and economic challenges.

Training has been delivered to Sana’a Center researchers as well as members of political parties, civil society organizations, and youth networks, including participants in the Yemen Peace Forum. Complementing the training program, the Speaker Series creates opportunities for participants to engage directly with experienced researchers and scholars, exploring innovative methods, lessons from fieldwork, and approaches to conducting research in complex and conflict-affected settings.

The program also offers mentorship opportunities, connecting emerging researchers with senior academics and practitioners for guidance throughout the research process.
