Background
The Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies is an independent think-tank that seeks to foster change through knowledge production, focusing on Yemen and the surrounding region. The Center’s publications and programs, offered in both Arabic and English, cover political, social, economic, and security-related developments, aiming to impact policy locally, regionally, and internationally.
We are a dynamic, highly mobile, multilingual team with diverse backgrounds and expertise. Our main office is in Yemen, while most of our team works remotely from locations across Yemen, the Middle East, and major cities around the world. Among our core strengths are our versatility, initiative, access, networks, and audacity.
Main tasks
The auditor should provide an independent opinion on the following:
- Whether the project financial report is accurate and based on the accounting system maintained by the Project.
- Whether the expenditure is properly approved, classified, and supported by adequate documentation.
- Whether procurement has been conducted by the Project in accordance with the procurement policy of the Sana’a Center.
- Whether the project has an effective accounting system in place.
- Whether the project complies with the financial requirements as outlined in the agreement.
- Compliance with other donor requirements as specified in the agreement (Audit section), Attachment 1.
Requirements
Interested applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A valid company or office license in Yemen.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in auditing.
- Qualification to audit externally funded projects (e.g., World Bank, COCA, etc.).
- Experience in auditing at least 3 funded projects by international organizations or foreign governments within the last 4 years.
- Previous experience in auditing projects funded by international organizations or foreign governments. (at least 2 projects in the last 2 years should be provided).
- Submitting technical and financial proposals. It should be in a lump sum amount in US Dollars.
Note: All the above-mentioned required documents should be submitted via email to the Sana’a Center.

The Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies is an independent Yemeni think tank that generates knowledge and contributes to shaping policy on Yemen and the wider region. Established in 2014, the Center has established its credibility through its independence, rigorous analysis, and ability to engage constructively across political divides. Its team is highly mobile and multilingual, with the main office in Yemen and staff working from locations across Yemen, the Middle East, and international capitals.
The Center’s work covers political, economic, social, and environmental sectors in Yemen and is delivered through research, community engagement, convenings, and technical advisory services in both Arabic and English. To maintain the quality and reach of its field-based programming, the Center is seeking a Coordinator to oversee activities on the ground, strengthen and expand relationships with national and local authorities, community actors, and partners, and coordinate the day-to-day implementation of field activities across governorates.
