Sana’a Center and the Oxford Research Group conclude workshop in Jordan on Marib and Hadramawt

The Hadramawt and Marib Strategic Forum held its third meeting in Amman, Jordan on February 24 – 27. The meeting was organized by the Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies and the Oxford Research Group.

The forum convened 30 participants from Hadramawt and Marib to discuss mechanisms to enhance peace opportunities at the national level and in the two governorates. Participants identified priorities for local actions to strengthen the role of local authorities and stakeholders in providing services to their communities. They also held discussions on these actions with delegations from the international community and international organizations.

Maged Al-Madhaji, Executive Director of the Sana’a Center, said the workshop was the culmination of the Center’s efforts to create a development-oriented and knowledge-based debate on local issues and local administration in Yemen. The forum also served as a link between local and international actors, Al-Madhaji said.

The forum was a continuation of previous workshops and meetings held in Yemen in recent weeks in Sayoun, Mukalla and Marib.
