Exploring Alternative Methodologies for Peace in Yemen
The Exploring Alternative Methodologies for Peace in Yemen project explores how locally led dialogue and peacebuilding approaches can contribute to addressing conflict and governance challenges in Yemen.
Building on earlier work by the Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies and Oxford Research Group, the project engages political, tribal, and civil society leaders—including youth and women leaders—in Al-Mahra, Hadramawt, Marib, and Shabwa. Through dialogue, research, and collaborative problem-solving, participants examine local conflict dynamics, governance challenges, and opportunities for reducing political divisions and strengthening social cohesion.
The project supports local stakeholders in identifying and addressing conflict drivers within their communities while creating channels to connect local perspectives and priorities with national and international peace efforts. By generating locally grounded knowledge and facilitating dialogue across divides, the initiative contributes to more inclusive, responsive, and sustainable approaches to peace in Yemen.
