Dr. Laura Cretney is a researcher and international development consultant whose work bridges diaspora politics, peacebuilding, and social entrepreneurship. Her PhD examined digital diaspora mobilization in Yemen’s conflict. She has over a decade of experience designing and advising on international development programming for major donors including the United Nations, the European Union, and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Alongside her academic and consultancy work, Cretney is the Founder of Pink Jinn, a social enterprise connecting artisans and creators across the MENA region and its diaspora with global markets. She is based between Oman and the United Kingdom.
