About Victoria

Victoria Katharina Sauer is a non-resident research assistant with the Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies where she contributes to the Yemen at the UN monthly publication series, focusing on humanitarian and human rights issues.

At the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research Sauer recently headed a working group monitoring political and military conflicts in the Arabian Peninsula, and previously interned at Germany’s permanent mission to the United Nations in Geneva.

Sauer studied political science, Islamic studies, and theology at Heidelberg University, Beirut Arab University and Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut. She is also fluent in German, English, Arabic and French.
