The Yemen Peace Forum (YPF) held a launch event for the project’s second phase on April 19, 2023. Over 30 delegates convened for a video conference which discussed successful outcomes from phase one and introduced new objectives for the upcoming project cycle.

The second phase of the forum, which is implemented by the Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies with funding from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will focus on building capacity for civil society organizations who work with youth in Yemen. This year, 11 new member organizations and 18 youth activists joined the Forum, which now represents most governorates in Yemen.

The Yemen Peace Forum is a track II youth and civil society platform facilitated by the Sana’a Center and funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This interactive initiative seeks to both invest in building and empowering the next generation of Yemeni youth and civil society actors and to engage them in critical national issues. The YPF aims to localize the peace process by bridging the gap between youth, civil society organizations and national and international decision-makers, amplifying the voices of young men, women, and civil society organizations to increase their influence over decisions central to Yemen’s peace process.
