The Yemen Peace Forum (YPF) held a series of meetings between January and July 2025, bringing together members—including representatives from youth and civil society organizations (CSOs)—and senior officials from Yemeni political parties.
The initiative aimed to strengthen effective communication between political parties, youth, and CSOs by creating an open dialogue, fostering a deeper understanding of the political landscape in Yemen, and giving a platform for the priorities of YPF members. Figures from the Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah), the General People’s Congress, the Yemeni Socialist Party, the Nasserist Unionist People’s Organization, and the Southern Transitional Council participated in the talks.
Among the key issues discussed were political parties’ perspectives on the future of transitional justice and the meaningful inclusion of youth and women in discussions on Yemen’s future and any political settlement process.
Each session followed a standardized format: guest speakers addressed pre-agreed thematic topics, followed by an open discussion that included questions and interventions from YPF participants. According to feedback from party representatives, this structure highlighted YPF members’ ability to engage in meaningful and constructive political dialogue. The meetings form part of the YPF’s broader efforts to involve youth and CSO actors in discussions on critical national issues.
Yemen Peace Forum is a Track II platform for civil society and youth, facilitated by the Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies. The Forum includes 57 young men and women, along with representatives of CSOs, from various governorates across the country and reflective of diverse political and civic backgrounds.
