Assim al-Sabri is a Yemeni journalist specializing in political and military affairs. As a graduate in Mass Communication from Sana’A University, he previously worked for Al-Oula newspaper before becoming a news producer for BBC Arabic & Alhurra News Channel. He also worked as a correspondent and as an office manager for Al-Ekhbariya in Yemen (a Saudi News channel), and as a correspondent for Abu Dhabi Channel. Since 2015, he has covered major military battles and political developments in Yemen, such as the battles fought to liberate Aden, battles in the western coast as well as battles fought to liberate Al-Mukalla from Al-Qaeda. Since 2021, he has specialized in covering Islamic jihadist groups in Yemen and the region.

He is currently working as a correspondent for Al-Aan TV, which also focuses on jihadist groups. Al-Sabri’s writings have recently gained wide circulation due to his exclusive news stories on developments in Al-Qaeda and ISIS’s activities in Yemen.
