Dialogue Platforms

Strategic Thinking Groups

Strategic Thinking Groups (STGs) are locally led platforms that strengthen social cohesion, collaboration, and peacebuilding at governorate and cross-governorate levels.
Past 2020 — 2024

About the platform

The STGs bring together representatives from local authorities, tribal leaders, civil society actors, academics, lawyers, women leaders, and other influential stakeholders to address shared challenges, build trust, and identify locally driven solutions to conflict and governance issues.

Through dialogue and horizontal exchange within and across governorates, the STGs encourage collaboration, strengthen local peacebuilding efforts, and promote greater coordination on common priorities. Established in Al-Mahra, Hadramawt, Marib, and Shabwa, the platforms help connect local perspectives and experiences while advancing bottom-up approaches to peace and stability.
