About the Sana'a Center

The Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies (SCSS) is an independent policy and research think-tank that provides new approaches to understanding Yemen and the surrounding region, through balanced perspectives, in-depth studies and expert analysis.

Founded in 2014, the SCSS conducts research and consultations in the fields of political, economic, civil and social development, in addition to providing technical and analytical advice regarding key issues of local, regional and international concern.

Al-Madhaji is a co-founder of the Sana’a Center and a human rights activist, researcher and commentator. In the past decade he has produced numerous studies on political, social, security, and gender issues in Yemen for local and international organizations.

Abdullah is a senior program manager and community engagement specialist who has played an active role in the political transition process in Yemen.

Chief Economist

Rageh has been an economist with the Central Bank of Yemen since 2003, playing a key role in drafting the Yemeni government's microfinance and mobile banking policies. He has also served as a consultant for numerous firms in Yemen and abroad.
